New Year

I figured if there was a good time to make a change, now would be the best. I've never been the best at fulfilling New Year's Resolutions, but I figured that if it was documented somewhere, I'd follow through better.

Less high-end beauty

I've noticed that a lot of what I purchased this year (and by that I mean 95%) are definitely not budget-friendly. I've always stuck to the belief that the pricier the better, but I've had some that didn't work for me (ex. Benefit Porefessional, Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation). I've been looking around and there are a lot of great things from the drugstore and a lot of new releases by Korean companies that I want to try. I'll allow myself maybe 3 or 4 products but other than that, I'll try to stick to a budget this year.

Note-taking

I've been nagged constantly by professors on their belief that pen and paper is better for note taking versus using technology, and I have to admit they're somewhat right. I remember things better when I take the time to write it down, so I want to do that more this year with a few things. I want to get back into using a daily planner, which I used to do but never finished in the previous year (and yes, I did have one or two Starbucks planners that were never written in past May).

I also want a blogging notebook because typing things down on the note app on my phone doesn't cut it. I want something I can take around with me but isn't too bulky, but will be good for the rest of the year. I'll give some sneak peeks on my Instagram from time to time, just to tease. Hopefully I'll get a lot of new ideas for posts using this method!

I'm also going to keep a positivity journal and write in it whenever I'm feeling down. I already started by adding a lot of inspiring quotes from my Philosophy class at uni, and I'll try sharing some with you guys, hoping it'll bring you inspiration and motivation as well.

Lifestyle changes

For someone that constantly nags on other people about their health, I have to admit I'm not in tip-top shape. I skip meals, eat a lot of junk (in the form of sugary treats), and sleep really late even if I'm not doing anything school-related. I'm not getting any younger, and I don't want to wait until I'm older to realize that I should have taken care of myself better sooner.

This year I'm really going to make an effort to eat healthier, meaning eating all my meals at the right times and making sure they're substantial. I'm also going to exercise, because when I used to be really active, I felt that I slept better and my overall mood was better and more positive as well. I'm really going to take at least 30 minutes out of my day to stay in shape. Hopefully it'll help with my skin, too.

I guess this is all I have for now. Are you guys trying anything new this year?

  1. Yay for positivity! I'm keeping a tiny notebook where I'm only allowed to write things I'm thankful for (because my diaries always become too "teenage angst" ew)~ Wishing you all the best, bb ♥ Happy new year!
